maybe one day
in another time and another place
i will wake up to my alarm
and see you turning it off
and your strong arms bringing me closer
and cold fruit
and warm smiles
maybe one day
in a moment so dear
my brain’s cogs will turn properly,
forming memories of bright sunny days
and brunette hair
deep green ocean and bright blue grass
and clouds brighter white than life itself
maybe one day
we will attend breakfast
and laugh along with friends
eating warm soup and fresh apricots, cold and sweet
there’s a drop of juice trailing down your throat
as you swallow
and it is all i can do but to stare
at how beautiful your skin is
maybe one day
we will go to bed together
blankets we haven't seen in years wrapped around our
sleeping forms
surrounded by pillows and warm words,
sweet nothings
no substance yet meaning everything
and maybe one day we will wake in the morning
with the sun
and do it all again
